The family of Police Constable, Sandra Asiedu, has announced that the bodily remains of the constable have been brought to Obuasi this dawn from Damongo where' she was murdered.
The father of the deceased, Victor Osei, who spoke to Kwadwo Obarima Gyamfi on the Aseda Morning Show on Friday, 6th August 2021 also revealed the date to observe her One-Week.



Sandra Asiedu was found dead at her residence at Damongo in the Savannah region on 2nd August 2021. She was found in a pool of blood with wounds believed to be knife stabs. The body was then deposited at West Gonja District Hospital, pending investigation. Her boyfriend is highly suspected and the Police are on a manhunt for him.

The family of Sandra Asiedu, who lives in Obuasi, left for Damongo on Wednesday evening to see the body of their daughter and bring her back to the city where' she had lived for almost her entire life.

According to Victor Osei, the Obuasi Police Command met their vehicles when they were about to enter Obuasi and carried out gun salutes to welcome the body of the deceased Constable home.

“It was sad but a spectacle to behold. We thank the police for their support. The body has been deposited at the mortuary” he said.

“We have also decided to have the One-week observation next week Thursday (12 August 2021) at Kriki (Obuasi)” he added.

Victor Osei also revealed he does not know the suspect, Louis Asante, who they say was her boyfriend. He said some friends of Sandra at Damongo admitted that the suspect used to visit her and could spend a week there. He then called on the public to help the police in finding and prosecuting the suspect.

Meanwhile, an amount of ten thousand Ghana cedis (Ghc 10,000.00) has been named as a reward for any person, other than a law enforcement officer, who furnishes information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person who killed Constable Sandra Asiedu.

The amount was pledged by Hon. Lawyer Abu Jinapor, Member of Parliament for Damongo Constituency and Minister for Lands and Natural Resources. He made the pledge through the Savannah Regional Minister, Hon. Muhazu Saeed when he led a team of NPP Constituency -executives to commiserate with the Police on 3rd August 2021.
